“Get ready for an unforgettable experience at Seat for the Soul at Bregamos, curated by Linda Mickens, where New Haven’s rich history takes center stage! 🎨✨ This event is all about celebrating our city’s legacy through music, dance, and meaningful conversations—brought together by the power of benches. These handcrafted benches, designed by local artists, are more than just a place to sit—they symbolize connection, reflection, and the shared stories that shape our community. 🌿” ( Arts Council of Greater New Haven.)
This event took place on October 26th ,but it is not done yet ! The benches made for this project all tell a story, and they will be placed at various, yet unknown locations in the New Haven area. Also, there will be videos of the interviews of the artists and performers. Coming soon.
Here are photos of the six benches. The story of the first bench is on this website on the project page ” New Haven Bench” https://urbanminers.com/projects/ . The rest of the stories will be published soon. Note that all of the benches are made from 100% reclaimed materials.
