This is a slightly oversized ( is there a standard ? ) 30 inches wide, 21 inches deep, 33 1/3 tall at back, 40 tall at front. PN a stand 30 tall.)”Free Library ” box. The idea is to swap books, housewares adn anything else that fits inside, so neighbors can share things they no longer need that may or may not be worth consigning or selling online etc. but instead are shared within a neighborhood or two.  This box is watertight and made from 99% salvaged scrap materials ( the drip edge at the top is the only purchased item).

From our Instagram add “A ” Free shed”. Completed oversized “free library” shed. The idea is to free trade anything that will fit in it, including books. Right now there are 78 records, books, stainless micing bowls, a brass pot and misc. stage lighting components. SO what about larger ones that could accommodate, say ,clothing , small appliances, garden tools, dishware, etc. ? And how large ? Given the prices of things ,neighborhood trading is lookin better and better. Message me for our first trail run location. ( of course this is made from salvaged materials including shelving from a house in Cheshire, shelving from an office in New Haven, plaster lath from a house in New Haven, window sash via a customer in Windsor, cedar shingles salvaged from a garage ( new in the box !), boards from a shed in New Haven, flooring from a house in Old Saybrook. On an aluminum base bought from a scrapper. We have enough materials to make dozens. Waterproofed- all joints are caulked. “
