Or some kind of mediation altar .But if you are going to let your cats jump all over it we recommend fastening it to the wall or floor ,even though it has a low center of gravity. This storage/ display shelf requires imagination. Perhaps something other than jamming every space with books. For that you can get one of our reclaimed wood shelf units that are more conventional i.e. rectangular. Made from salvaged old closet shelf, salvaged c. 1930 3 x 10 Fir, salvaged mahogany, yellow pine carriage house framing….salvaged hinges ( bottom section can be easily removed to make moving it easier.
