Project: Hopkins Furniture

Hopkins School has recently replaced their dining room furniture. When Urbanminers was called to assist with finding homes for some of the 300 + chairs and 50+ tables, the first thought I had was that perhaps some of the local Hopkins Alumni would want these. The idea was to provide an opportunity at a minimal cost of $ 10.00 per chair and $ 25.00 per table – enough to cover handling and transportation. Out of about 20 connections made, at least half of the sales went to Hopkins Alumni. In total we have so far re-homed 165 chairs and 20 tables. Update: All of the chairs and tables have been distributed. There are some in private homes, dorm rooms of Hopkins graduates, Wesleyan University, The Town of Hamden municipal buildings, Best Video, and other locations.
